IAS Set to Meet 2009 Challenges with Dynamic New Council Members |
Singapore, 23rd December 2008 — New council members for 2009
were welcomed aboard the IAS in a celebratory Annual General
Meeting lunch at the Singapore Cricket Club on Thursday 18th Dec.
IAS President, Sorab Mistry, Chief Growth Officer—Asia Pacific,
McCann Worldgroup, gave an inspiring speech celebrating the
successes of 2008 and thanking the retiring council members for
their service.
The day’s business addressed financial matters and the ongoing
appointment of auditors M/s CS Chow and Co, before moving on
to the election of new Council Members.
Honorary Secretary, Patrick Mowe welcomed Mr Mistry as President
for a second term, thanking him for his mentorship and leadership
throughout the year. Founding President, David Teo, who continues
as Finance Chairman, was also named Honorary Secretary.
Peggy Tan, CEO of Consumer Probe, continues her role as
Vice President, with an emphasis on her involvement with the
re-vamped ‘IAS Education Portfolio’ and Nalini Naidu, Group MD of
Integrated Marketing Solutions, was welcomed as new Vice President.
Nominations for the 6 Council Members 2009, were strongly supported
by the group.
Richard Huggins, Regional Director Southeast Asia Microsoft
Advertising, continues his role for another year, giving his personal
backing to the development of IAS Education.
Five new members also join the ranks of IAS; Jim Goh, Executive
Director, Business Development APAC, OmnicomMediaGroup will be
the new Treasurer; Jayne Kwek, MD, Moove Media, who championed
the ‘The CEO Power Breakfast’ earlier this year’, adds creative impact
to the Council; Thomas Neo, CEO, Publicis Singapore; Jeslyn Tan,
Senior Director of SMRT Media and the leading spirit behind the highly
acclaimed ‘Most Influential Creative Director of the Year’ poster campaign;
and finally Terrence Tan, DDB’s Creative Director and winner of the
2008 ‘Creative Director of the Year’ award. His involvement in IAS Portfolio
School promises to draw attention and inspire the hearts and minds of
Singapore’s creatives.
Mr Mistry closed the meeting with his thought provoking speech.
After thanking Jennifer Goh, IAS Executive Director, for her tireless
efforts and continued results on behalf of the Council, he emphasised
the need to be prepared for what lies ahead in 2009; to embrace a
positive attitude and help build on the foundations which have been so
successfully put in place by previous Council Members.
